Aratoi

In The Foyer

Since 2006, Aratoi has been home to the Rutherford Trust Collection, which comprises of 147 works - mainly contemporary New Zealand paintings and a small selection of sculpture. Many of the major artists of the twentieth century are represented, such as Ralph Hotere, Colin McCahon, Rita Angus, Max Gimblett, Toss Woollaston, Frances Hodgkins, Tony Fomison, Julia Morrison, Milan Mrkusich, Seraphine Pick and  Michael Tuffery.

A small selection of works are currently on display in the reception area.

Teeming Tuna

Teeming Tuna is an artwork made up of 70 individual works created by students during the Wairarapa Moana exhibition.  Each student painted a plywood tuna (eel) shape made by the volunteers at the Masterton "Men's Shed".
