Leaf
Leaves were scanned for a year in New Zealand before digitally threading them together to create a continuous vertical stream that evokes the growth cycle of plants. This moving image was first projected onto a tall, rectangular plasma screen mounted on an indoor wall in a greenhouse-like office building in Frankfurt, Germany. When installed, the work performed the action of mapping a territory (the building) with different environmental textures (the leaves); a symbiotic relationship of two different territories coexisted, as a kind of virtual-time-lapsed growing tree.
