Contemplative paintings by Masterton artist Carol Bauer on the theme of myths and beliefs, an extension of her 'Crystals' series: “These canvases are not pictures of things that we recognize or see every day. They are paintings about ideas and feelings that exist in my heart and mind: I hope to share them.”
Carol immigrated to New Zealand from the United States in 1972. She holds a BFA.Hons from the University of Connecticut, and graduate courses in enameling and stitchery. She is an elected artist member at the NZ Academy of Fine Arts, where she has exhibited since 1973. She was also a founding member of the KORU Embroidery group, and moved to the Wairarapa in 2000.
