It's that time of year again! Get ready for the Wairarapa Art Review 2025!
This year's selector is Jaenine Parkinson, Head of Art at Te Papa.
This year you can PRE-REGISTER online, collect a form from Aratoi's Front Desk or register in person on drop off day (Tuesday 18 November).
Your work must have an ID tag attached. (Download below)
2025 Awards:
Friends of Aratoi, Premier Award $2,000
Rigg Zschokke, Highly Commended Award $1,000
Creative Kitchens Wairarapa, Photography Award $500
Hillview Property Investments Ltd, 3D Award $500
Jane Hyder, Portrait Award $500
ConArt Gallery and Studios, Emerging Artist and Residency Package $500
Gwenda Saunders, Exciting use of Colour Award $500
Frank Minehan, People's Choice Award $500
Conditions of Entry:
- 1 entry per person (diptych and triptychs are welcome)
- Artist must live in the Wairarapa
- It must be orginal work and not previously exhibited
- All works must be for sale, 40% commission to be deducted from the sale price
- Works must arrive at Aratoi on Tuesday 18 November- Late or Early entries won't be accepted
Presentation:
- Works must be presented ready for display (eg. matted, framed)
- Any cords, D-rings or cleats must be supplied
- Plinths can be provided
- Artworks must be labelled with ID tag
Acceptance:
- All entries will be subject to selection
- Artist will be notified by phone or email of their selection
- Non selected works to be collected within 1 week
- Selector's decision is final
- No correspondence will be entered into
Key Dates:
- Tuesday, 18 November - Entries delivered to Aratoi
- Friday, 5 December - Exhibition opening and Winner's announced
- Sunday, 15 February - Exhibition closes and Frank Minehan People's Choice announced
- Tuesday, 17 February - Unsold work to be collected from Aratoi
