Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History joins forces with geologist Chris Hollis to bring you a unique school holiday special focused on Wairarapa geology!
COLOUR BY NUMBERS:
Colour in a geological map of the Wairarapa. Use the colour key and magnifying glass to identify key features of landmass development during the Holocene, Pleistocene, Pliocene, Miocene and Cretaceous periods. Colour in that area with the correct coloured pencil!
FOSSIL FIND:
Try your hand at palaeontology, use a brush to carefully remove soil and reveal oceanic fossils embedded in the rock!
STUDENT ECO-WARRIORS:
Touch the interactive sound installation to listen to Wairarapa students sharing their experiences of ecological restoration! Headlining students from Kahutara School, Chanel College, Wairarapa College, Fernridge School, and South End School.
