Double Portrait is a theatrical performance that explores the life of New Zealand's most significant ex-patriate modernist painter, incorporating music and dance as it traverses her relationships with key individuals, from the artist colony of St Ives, Cornwall, to Morocco, Paris and London.
Paekakariki actor, director and choreographer Jan Bolwell plays Frances, supported by John Wraight and Perry Piercy. Double Portrait has played to critical acclaim at art galleries throughout New Zealand since opening in May 2009.
