Experiencing Ngawi

Carterton artist Annette Dunnage-Roy presents atmospheric acrylic landscapes inspired by “the desire to break free from the confines of the studio and re-experience working in the open air”. Annette relocated from her hometown of Wellington to Wairarapa in 2007, and is well known for her paintings of the Tararua Ranges, which for her hold a “rugged beauty and spiritual power”. Coastal landscapes, native forests and bird life have remained a focus in her work. Annette won first place in the Wairarapa Review, 2007, and the Marine & Coastal Theme Award at the Molly Morpeth Canaday Art Awards, 2005.
