Local artist Hélène exhibits her most recent body of work.
Artists statement:
Matisse used familiar objects from his own environment to create domestic scenes in his paintings. Inspired by Matisse I have tried to do something similar depicting items from my own past and presenting them in a domestic environment which includes the black shadow of my family's experiences in Holocaustal Europe. I am hoping that these paintings will give the viewer an insight into a small corner of my world.
