The Tranzit Group’s Social History Gallery exhibition Miss Golden Shears & Maroulis Gowns, proudly sponsored by Anneka Billing and Tony McKenna Property Brokers, offers up a complimentary show to McQuarrie’s “The land, again” and the Golden Shears World Shearing & Wool Handling Championships to be held in Masterton in March.

Based around a Masterton dress maker and their involvement in the initial years of the Miss Golden Shears beauty pageant, the exhibition highlights some of the gowns made by Maroulis Gowns and worn by contestants in the competition.

In the first Miss Golden Shears, (1971) Maroulis Gowns was a sponsor of a contestant and in the next few years provided the winners’ all-wool wardrobe to be worn in the Miss New Zealand beauty pageant that was also a winners’ prize.

Opening Friday, 13 March, 5.30pm
