Large Aboriginal sword club of traditional typical broad flat form with narrow twine wrapped handle at one end. Has traces of white earth pigment decoration on base of blade.
Woomera (spear thrower), Australia, wood, fibre, resin/gum
A smooth narrow wooden Aboriginal Woomera, or spear thrower with 'hook' lashed to one end. It is lightweight to enable the efficient use of it as an extension of the arm for Aboriginal people while hunting. The woomera is held in one hand while the other hand places the butt of the spear on the woomera's hook; the hollow curved shape facilitates this alignment without looking. The woomera effectively lengthens the thrower's arm, greatly increasing the velocity of the spear.

Aboriginal nullanulla (hunting club) possibly from Cape York in far north Queensland. Of traditional form the shaft round in cross section,with the head tapering to a point. The grip end is patterned with notches.Impressed into the wood "REPLICA"
