Breadcraft announces an increased annual sponsorship of Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History.
One of Masterton’s first companies, Breadcraft is also one of Aratoi’s first corporate sponsors: the third generation family-owned business has been supporting the Breadcraft Wairarapa Schools Art Exhibition since the 1980s – the longest running annual exhibition at the museum.
“We are pleased to commit to this increased annual sponsorship of Aratoi Wairarapa Museum of Art and History,” said Chris Petersen, Sales and Marketing Manager at Breadcraft. “Aratoi has been delivering fine cultural and educational programmes for fifty years now and Breadcraft is proud to have been partnering with the institution for much of that time.”
“A registered charity, Aratoi is grateful for this generous financial assistance,” said Aratoi Director Susanna Shadbolt. “We see this new sponsorship as the beginning of an even stronger partnership. Breadcraft confirmed its involvement in the third annual Block Party, on Saturday 26 October. The theme is ‘’Keep it Green’ this year, and Breadcraft will showcase its new range of hemp and cricket wraps.”
The 2019 Breadcraft Wairarapa Schools Art Exhibition features 319 works of art by students at 23 primary and secondary schools across the Wairarapa. “Thanks to Breadcraft’s support, the Wesley Wing is filled with vibrant art,” Susanna added. “It’s a tremendous joy for the participating students and their whānau. It’s very affirming for children to see their creations on public display at a museum.”
Participating Primary Schools: Carterton School, Douglas Park School, Eketāhuna School, Fernridge School, Gladstone School, Greytown School, Hadlow School, Lakeview School, Masterton Primary School, Mauriceville School, St Mary's School (Carterton), St Matthew's Collegiate School, St Patrick's School, Solway Primary School, South End School, Tuturumuri School, Wainuioru School and Whareama School
Participating Secondary Schools: Makoura College, Rathkeale College, St Matthew's Collegiate School, Solway College, and Wairarapa College.
The Wairarapa Home School Association is also participating.
The exhibition is open daily, from Wednesday 2 October to Monday 28 October, with a public event on Saturday 5 October at 2pm, when the student artists will be present, along with Chris Petersen and Barbara Roydhouse, Chair of the Aratoi Regional Trust. All welcome.
